Planning & Development Services (PDS)
Director for the City of Round Rock
Brad is responsible for the oversight of comprehensive planning, zoning, permitting, inspections, and civil engineering for all private development in the community. His department is also responsible for neighborhood services, community development block grants, and code enforcement. Brad has been with the City for 12 years and has served as the PDS director for the past six years.
During his tenure, he has reorganized and streamlined the development review process; formulated aggressive and achievable performance metrics for development review staff; secured adoption of the City’s first unified land development code; developed and implemented the downtown mixed use zoning districts, including the associated rezoning of over 300 properties; and worked closely with the Chamber of Commerce in successfully recruiting economic development projects such as the District, Houghton-Mifflin Harcourt, Pro-Portion Foods, Bass Pro Shops, UPS, and Kalahari Resorts.
Prior to his time in Round Rock, Brad worked in planning and development at the City of Palm Beach Gardens in South Florida for five years during a period a rapid growth. He has a Bachelor of Urban & Regional Planning & Zoning from Florida Atlantic University, and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley. Brad is a certified planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and is accredited by the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU-A).
