About the Speakers

Eldon Rude, Principal, 360° Real Estate Analytics
A mainstay of Central Texas’ real estate community, Eldon Rude is principal of 360° Real Estate Analytics. His more than 30 years of experience in the market have made him one of the region’s most respected real estate advisors to professionals in housing, development, banking, commercial real estate and the government sector. Eldon has lived in Austin since 1979 and is active in numerous organizations including the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin where he serves on the Board of Directors and is part of the Finance and Membership Committees. He is also involved with the Real Estate Council of Austin and the Urban Land Institute where he is currently chair of the Membership Committee, serves as a member of the Advisory Board and previously served two terms as Programs Chair. Before founding 360° Real Estate Analytics, Eldon was Director for Metrostudy’s Central Texas region for nearly 17 years. Prior to that, he was a partner in the Aegis Group where he practiced commercial real estate appraisal for 12 years, obtaining his MAI designation in 1990. A frequent media resource and highly regarded keynote speaker, Eldon has earned a reputation for keen analysis and candid insight. He is a finance graduate of theUniversity of Texas at Austin.

Mollie Carmichael, Principal, Meyers Research LLC
Mollie has been a leading real estate strategist throughout the country for more than 30 years with many of the nation’s most sophisticated home builders, community developers, building product manufacturers, financial institutions, land planners, and architectural firms.  Her experience includes multi-million dollar investment strategies with acquisitions, product development, masterplan and product development, business planning, market expansion planning, and more.  Mollie is most known for her leading national research on community and product innovation with consumer insights.

Before joining Meyers Research, Mollie’s career includes positions with The Irvine Company as Vice President of Residential Product Planning, Pulte Homes/Del Webb as the Regional Vice President of Strategic Marketing for the California Region, Lennar as Vice President of Strategic Marketing, and Kovach Marketing as Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing.  Lastly, Mollie was most recently a Principal with John Burns Real Estate Consulting for almost 10 years where she led consulting services, consumer and product research, and other specialized research programs throughout the country. 

Mollie has been quoted in various media publications including the Wall Street Journal, MSNBC, Reuters, Businessweek, and Professional Builder.  She has spoken throughout the country at conferences including Pacific Coast Builder Conference, Urban Land Institute, UBS, Building Industry Association, Zillow’s Annual Housing Forum, International Builder Show, and many other venues nationally.

Julia Coronado, President and Founder of MacroPolicy Perspectives
This independent research firm serves clients that manage risk in the financial services and other industries. Julia is also a Clinical Associate Professor at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and is an advisor and blogger for the Real Estate Centers at both UT and Rutgers Business School. She has more than a decade of experience as a financial market economist including serving as Chief Economist for Graham Capital Management and BNP Paribas, and as a Senior Economist at Barclays Capital. After receiving her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, Julia worked for the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington D.C. for eight years. She regularly briefed the Board and contributed to the FOMC forecasts and represented the Federal Reserve at meetings of the OECD’s Committee on Financial Markets. Julia has published a number of scholarly articles on issues related to pension finances, social security, and retirement saving adequacy and behavior. She currently serves on the Advisory Boards of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Pension Research Council at the Wharton School and Protiviti Consulting.
