2018 Housing Forecast

Presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin, the annual housing forecast is the only comprehensive housing and economic forecast event in the region.
Due to icy weather conditions expected overnight, the HBA’s 2018 Housing Forecast has been postponed. The event will now be on Wednesday, January 31st, 7:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the AT&T Conference Center in the Grand Ballroom.
All existing registrations will transfer to the new date.
If you haven’t already picked up your tickets, we encourage you to pick them up at the HBA office (located at 8140 Exchange Drive, Austin TX 78754) before the event to avoid the long lines at the registration desk. Any tickets not picked up before 5pm Tuesday the 30th, will be available at will call.

Eldon Rude, 360º Real Estate Analytics
In addition to moderating the event, Eldon Rude, principal of 360° Real Estate Analytics, will provide a review of last year’s housing economy and deliver his forecast for what to expect in 2018.
Rude’s 30-plus years of experience in Central Texas’ real estate market has made him one of the region’s most respected advisors in housing, development, banking, commercial real estate and the government sector.
Active in numerous organizations, Rude has served the HBA in various capacities for over 20 years. He received the HBA President’s Award in 2013 and was named HBA Associate of the Year for 2016. He is also involved with the Real Estate Council of Austin and the Urban Land Institute where he is a member of the Advisory Board and served two terms as Programs Chair.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Rude has earned a reputation for keen analysis and candid insight.
Dr. Greg Hallman, University of Texas at Austin
Dr. Greg Hallman is a Senior Lecturer in Real Estate Finance at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Hallman received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Texas in 1996, then worked in consulting for six years in Palo Alto, California, and returned to Austin and the university in 2002 to begin his teaching career with McCombs. Dr. Hallman teaches courses in valuation, investment theory, and real estate capital markets, and also serves as the faculty director of the McCombs Real Estate Investment Fund, a student-run fund managing approximately $1 million in a domestic REIT portfolio. In addition to his teaching and investment fund work, Dr. Hallman also serves as the Senior Managing Director of the McCombs Real Estate Finance and Investment Center.
Lindsay Kunkle, Kantar Futures
As a Vice President, Lindsay helps clients develop custom, future-led strategies via futures thinking processes. She oversees client relationships across a range of industries, with a focus in home design and home improvement, retail, consumer health, as well as food and beverage and fitness and fashion. Lindsay serves as one of the company’s experts in Millennials and Centennials, as well as women. Additionally, Lindsay has worked internally to develop forward-thinking perspectives in the health space, as well as consumer loyalty. Lindsay has been with Kantar Futures for over seven years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Duke University.
