Membership 101 Lunch Wrap Up
On October 2, the HBA welcomed more than 100 new and current members for lunch at the HBA Phillips Event Center. While the focus of the event was partly to meet and help orient new members, it was also an opportunity for active and returning members to learn how to maximize their memberships. So, what does that mean? Ultimately, it means becoming an HBA regular – getting to know other HBA members and letting them get to know you. During the event, several speakers harkened back to their early days as HBA members, sharing how they advanced through the organization by attending everything possible, some of them ended up as Chairs or even serving on the Board. Of course, this is not the path for every member, but regularly networking with other members is essential to success. And, there are a lot of ways to get involved. In addition to the 15 councils and committees (link), the HBA hosts a myriad of events each month (calendar link), from socials to education to advocacy work and more. Know someone new or who needs help getting involved? Contact any HBA staff member and we’ll be glad to help guide them in the right direction.
THANK YOU to our many volunteer HBA Member Leaders who took time from their busy schedules to participate in this program to help other Members and prospective Members. And, a big thank you to the lunch sponsors:
