Austin Planning Commission has first public hearing on proposed land development code
On October 26th, Austin’s Planning Commission held its first public hearing on the proposed new land development code. Nearly 200 speakers signed up to testify on the code by 1:00pm, when the testimony sign ups were closed.
Those in support of the bill emphasized diversity of housing, affordability, and transportation improvements. Those opposed to the bill highlighted concerns about increased property taxes, congestion, and displacement.
