The HBA’s nonpartisan political action committee, HomePAC, has identified five key cities to engage in the upcoming November election:

HBA attends ULI Regional Growth Council to discuss HB 3167
The Urban Land Institute hosted the HBA and several members, along with other development professionals and city planners to discuss HB 3167. The Cities of Georgetown and Cedar Park presented at the meeting, where they outlined their plans for compliance. There was an emphasis that cities and builders must keep the lines of communication open while these new processes come into effect in order to improve them going forward.
First draft of City of Austin’s new land development code to drop on October 4
The long-awaited new draft of Austin’s land development code will be released on October 4th. Upon its release, the Evolve Coalition’s research group will begin to read and analyze the code. The City is hosting nearly 20 meetings in the month of December to workshop the code. Evolve will be working closely with Council and Planning Commissioners to provide feedback on the code.
