HBA Participates in Wonders & Worries at Luxe Interior + Design’s ‘Battle of the Chefs’ Competition
On Thursday evening, July 27, HBA CEO Carrie L. Ciliberto participated as a judge in the Luxe Interior + Design ‘Battle of the Chefs’ event benefitting the charity Wonders & Worries. More than 150 people came out for the event held at the Ferguson Bath, Kitchen, and Lighting Gallery in south Austin.
The chefs and their teams were tremendously enthusiastic and had a blast. They were very creative with the appetizers and desserts they prepared during the 45 minute competition. The secret ingredients, required to be used in their dishes, were unveiled moments prior to the competition start and included avocados and marshmallows.
Overall, more than $2,000 was raised for Wonders & Worries and the feedback and enthusiasm has been over the top!
Appetizers prepared included Steak & Eggs, Shrimp & Scallop Shumai and Pupusas (a Salvadoran dish), and Desserts included Aebleskivers (a danish dessert), Classic Eclairs and Mango and Lychee parfaits.
