San Marcos presents to council and hosts open house on housing needs assessment and housing choice survey
Last week, San Marcos’ planning department published findings from their housing needs assessment and housing choice survey as part of their affordable housing task force. They presented the findings to city council at a work session and hosted an open house for the public the following evening.
Key findings included:
- More rental units for the lowest income earners in the city
- Displacement prevention
- Starter homes for families priced near or at $200,000
- Improved conditions and accessibility to existing housing stock
City staff will present to the HBA and its members at the Advocacy Forum on July 16th.
