With one more week of session, many bills running up against deadlines
On May 27th, the Texas Legislature will adjourn sine die, which is Latin for “without assigning a day for a further meeting or hearing.” As we approach sine die, a few key deadlines will pass. Any legislation that comes up short of these deadlines will be considered dead.
- Tomorrow is the last day for the House to consider any Senate bills.
- Wednesday is the last day for the Senate to consider any House bills.
- Friday is the last day for the House to agree with Senate changes to legislation, or request a conference committee to hash out any differences.
- Sunday is the last day for the Senate to agree with House changes to legislation, or request a conference committee.
