Builders association donates over $95,000 to local charities
Austin, Texas (April 23, 2018) – The HBA recently presented three checks for $31,952.17 each to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas, Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation and Community First! Village – Mobile Loaves and Fishes. Proceeds were generated from the HBA’s Benefit Home project in Santa Rita Ranch, a new-home community by Ed Horne of SRKC, LLC in Liberty Hill—a fast growing community in Northwestern Williamson County. The one-story home, built by Scott Felder Homes, is 2,942 sq. ft. and features four bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and two-car garage. It was sold on the open market. Led by Scott Felder Homes, HBA members work together to solicit materials and donations to help build the new home.
“We are deeply grateful to the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin, Scott Felder Homes, SRKC LLC and the HBA member donors for generously supporting our children and families with the 2017 Benefit Home,” comments Carolyn Schwarz, chief executive officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas. “A community of builders, contractors and service providers came together to build and sell a beautiful home to support our families with hospitalized children. Their kindness will make a tremendous difference as they face one of the most challenging times of their lives.”
“We are so extremely grateful to the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin and all of the vendors involved in making this year’s Annual Benefit Home an amazing success. We at Dell Children’s could not provide the continuous care without the support from the community. So on behalf of the over 145,000 patients we see annually from the over 46-county region are in Central Texas, a sincere thank you for your continuous commitment to Dell Children’s and the other organizations you supported this year,” says Armando Zambrano, director of annual giving for Dell Children’s Medical Center.
“Community First! Village is truly grateful for the continued support from the HBA and all those who contributed towards the success of the ABA Benefit home,” says Donna Emery, director of development for Mobile Loaves & Fishes. “With this critical gift, Mobile Loaves & Fishes will continue to move the chronically homeless off the streets into a sustainable community. The HBA has been a key partner in the development of this community that is shaping the way we address homelessness across the country. Members of the HBA have individually designed, constructed and donated their time and resources to providing homes at Community First! Village for our homeless brothers and sisters. We look forward to continuing this relationship as we begin development on Phase II on the adjacent 24 acres,” she continued.
“The HBA has a long standing history of giving back to our community through charitable donations and we are proud of that,” says HBA Executive Vice President Emily Blair.
The HBA donated more than $70,000 from the sale of the 2015 Benefit Home,to Dell Children’s Medical Center Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas. To date, the HBA has supported dozens of local charities and educational institutions with more than $2,000,000 in donations.
“Scott Felder Homes is honored to be part of this benefit home,” says Steve Krasoff, president of Scott Felder Homes. “The Felder team has built quite a few benefit homes and we believe in supporting our community. This year is somewhat special with proceeds going to Ronald McDonald House, Dell Children;s Medical Center, as well as Community First! Village. It is most gratifying for all of us at Scott Felder Homes as well as the Home Builders Association of Austin to be providing housing for those in need.”
SKRC, LLC provided the homesite at a significant discount in its new community of Santa Rita Ranch, located on Ronald Reagan Blvd. along one of Austin’s fastest-growing residential corridors in Williamson County.
The HBA Benefit Home gives its buyers a sense of satisfaction too. “We are really enjoying our new home in Santa Rita Ranch, it is so peaceful and relaxing here. We also feel good that our home purchase is benefiting so many well deserved local charities, say David and Laura Davis.
