Since 1953, the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin has served as the leading not-for-profit trade organization dedicated to residential construction and remodeling in Central Texas. The HBA works to protect every family’s right to homeownership. All of our communities should ensure that those who protect us, teach our children, and provide essential services can afford to live here. The vast majority of new homes are purchased by middle-class families — the very people at risk of being priced out of our communities by rising taxes and government fees.
With approximately 750 member firms representing 60,000 employees, 87% are small businesses including the following types of companies:
Associate members are firms that are not builders or remodelers. Examples include title companies, building suppliers, plumbers and other service providers, realtors, interior designers, heating/air conditioning companies, etc.
Builder members build more than 95 percent of new homes in the region and are major contributor to the economy, adding new local income and jobs as well as paying additional local taxes and fees.
Many of the HBA's builder members offer remodeling services as well. The HBA also has a number of members who work exclusively in remodeling.
